According to SGS Group worldwide development policy- based on maintaining a decentralized organization with emphasis in providing the best possible assistance to every customer in every country- SGS Chile Ltda. was born in 1951.
Since then, the company has had a sustained growth delivering efficient solutions in verification, inspection, analysis and certification to the most important industrial sectors in the country. During these 57 years of operation in Chile, our customers have received a best quality service supported by SGS Group- acknowledged as a world leader in the area.
SGS Chile Group operates with more than 1100 employees, 25 Offices from Arica to Punta Arenas, 20 laboratories for different areas and 2 experimental plants through SGS Chile Ltda. which provides services for Oil Gas and Chemicals, Environmental, Systems and Services Certification, Industrial, Agricultural and Consumer Testing Services, Vehicular Inspection Service and Aquaculture Industry sectors; SGS Lakefield Research Chile which is focused on Mining Industry needs, and SGS Capacitación Ltda. which supplies a wide portfolio on training solutions within SGS expertise areas.
During these 57 years in Chile, SGS has developed its services in parallel with the development of different economic sectors of the country, supporting the national growth and delivering experience and professionalism to the industry and its productive processes.
In 2002 the enterprise Lakefield Research present in Chile since 1993 is incorporated to SGS Chile Group which allows widening the services provided to mining sector -the most relevant sector in the national economy- and consolidating SGS leadership in this sector as well.
In January 2005 SGS Chile Group acquires Aquatic Health enterprise related to salmon industry -one of emerging industries in the Chilean market. This enterprise has been recently incorporated to SGS Chile Ltda. and today it provides highly qualified services related to the whole salmon production value chain.
On account of SGS vast international experience in the automotive sector in countries such as Ireland, England, Spain, Germany, EEUU, Argentina, Uruguay, among other countries, SGS awards the implementation and administration of five new Vehicular Inspection Service Plants in the Metropolitan Region in 2004 -all of them fully operative today.
Provided that SGS counts on highly skilled and experienced technical personnel it is created SGS Capacitación Ltda. in 2006. SGS Capacitación Ltda. provides highly qualified training services to a wide array of professionals according to SGS worldwide standards.
Currently SGS Group in Chile continues its growing course taking into account the national industry needs and stressing on a high professional service deliver: timely done, added value, under excellence standards, focused on customer’s needs and requirements satisfaction.
